When thinking of ideas for this project I referenced back to my projects from Art 3. I made a mixed media project using fire, wax, paper, paint, thread, and wire. In this new project, nature turn mechanical, I wanted to make something similar.
Here is my project from Art 3:

Inspired to expand on my Art 3 idea for this Art 4 project, I began painting oil on canvas, but that soon turned out horrible. I lost the idea I had and I couldn't envision my plan anymore. It became very confusing. What I learned from this attempt is how to use a two-toned wash and painting fire. Here is my attempt:
After coming up with new ideas, I thought about the early 1900's style of circus posters.
I liked this new idea so much better. Here is my redo:

This is my final but there is more that I want to add. I want to tweak the fire, so that it has a redder look, not orange. I also want to add another element. Most importantly I want to paint a darker color around the white letters "Cirque Mecanique" to emphasis since they blend in too much. Cirque Mecanique means Mechanical Circus in French. The ribbon on the bottom means "new spectacle" in French.
I will come back to update this project to make a few changes. Stay tuned!
